SYNAPTIC, CSR – Community Development

Oasis Foundation with the financial support of Synaptics India, has established a Community Development Centre at Hunsur. The center has been fully furnished and can accommodate 50 members in a batch. It is with Audio visual equipment, Table chairs and technically sound resource persons. Synaptics has funded ₹3,50,000 for the center.

Headquartered in San Jose, California, Synaptics has been a key player in the touch and biometric industry for many years. Their products are known for their high performance, accuracy, and user-friendly interfaces, making them popular choices among original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in the tech industry.

In line with Synaptics’ CSR objectives, a second project, aimed at involvement of community for renovation and rejuvenation of water bodies and improve the microclimate, was under taken.

The rural communities have built many traditional water reserves for the community use. But these are often not maintained even though having important utility to the entire community. Oasis foundation assessed that this was an appropriate opportunity to empower the community applying principles of social engineering to take charge of its own biodiversity preservation and show case a Public- Private collaboration. About ₹14,07942 was budgeted in this initiative.

The center will provide training to Community leader. Government officials and NGOs on Natural Resource management, Community organization, Agro-forestry, Sustainable Agriculture, Rain water harvesting and Water and Sanitation with the following key Objectives:

• To build the capacity of various community organization to empower Economically, Socially and Technically.

• To train the women into a successful entrepreneur from the unreached areas.

• To Provide a common platform for the community to discuss and share the information related to social issues, economic empowerment and challenges in the community.
