Founded in 1938 by Lee Byung-chul in South Korea, the company has grown into one of the world's leading technology giants. Initially starting as a small trading company, Samsung quickly expanded into various industries, including electronics, construction, shipbuilding, and more.
Currently, Samsung has emerged as a global technology leader, achieving remarkable success in the consumer electronics market with its popular Galaxy smartphones. The company has expanded its presence in various industries, including semiconductor manufacturing and OLED display production, while continuously innovating and investing in emerging technologies like artificial intelligence and 5G.
Objectives
In India Samsung CSR efforts are focused on two domains: Smart Education and Skilling Youth. Aligning to this Goal, Samsung India and Samsung Semiconductor India Research have sponsored holistic development school Mangalore. The objective was to
• Provide adequate infrastructure for better learning environment and multiple learning opportunities for children.
• Enable and encourage tribal children for promotion of tribal culture and traditions
• Inculcate sustainability principles developing the green school concept in the children’s mind.
About the Project
Two schools, Nagapura Tribal ashram school, Hunsur Taluka, Mysore and Government primary School, New Padipu, Mangalore were selected for these intervention and total budget of ₹32,50,000 was fully sponsored by Samsung.
Interventions
• Construction of stage for promotion of Cultural exchange.
• Renovation of Community Hall and Establishment of Library and Science Lab.
• Educational drawings for better learning for the entire School building.
• Safety grills for the Hostel building.
• Construction of Hand wash
