Objectives
• To desilt the entire lake area to increase the water holding capacity.
• To create a 360-degree walking path to ensure community involvement and usage.
• To beautify and green the lake with plantation of both forest and ornamental to improve the bio diversity.
• To empower community through awareness and education about the environment and sustainable management of the lake.
Quantitative Data
The project involved various interventions to enhance the water holding capacity of a lake: removal of silt around the periphery, raising the outlet's height, increasing bund height with a walking path, planting local species and ornamental plants, implementing catchment area treatments, constructing seven inlets with silt traps for rainwater harvesting, stabilizing the bund with plants, and maintaining vegetation through watering and maintenance practices. These efforts collectively increased the lake's water capacity by 2,35,00,000 liters, improved biodiversity with 2000 plantings, and included awareness boards for project sustainability.
